Today I thought I would do a review on the Nestor Miranda Special Selection to keep Dave off my ass about continuing to write cigar reviews. This has been a Saturday morning favorite of mine for some time now and was glad to hear when Dave got the new shipment in a week ago. I love smoking this cigar with some coffee. It has a fairly veiny Nicaraguan wrapper and I noticed on the most recent shipment they are not as oily as in the past but that could be because they are wrapped in cellophane now and were not before. Upon initial light up I get a little bit of bitter sweetness that reminds me of dark chocolate but that doesn’t mean you will get the same taste from it. Speaking of that I am often confused when people in reviews say that it has a specific taste of which a normal person would never put in their mouth. For example, “earthy taste”; well I haven’t eaten earth since I was at least 6 years old and I definitely do not remember what it tasted like. Anyway, the initial flavor to me is a bitter sweet taste and it’s delicious.

As I work my way thru this cigar I am getting plenty of smoke and lots of great aroma. I love smoking while I am driving as you can probably tell by this review and the last but its two times a day that I get the most peace and quiet and relaxation to just enjoy the cigar and the radio. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone and if you are one of those people that say they don’t smoke in their car well you might need to live a little bit and loosen up, it’s just a car. And move the baby’s car seat behind the passenger seat just in case you get a runaway ash you wouldn’t want to put out your kid’s eye with your addiction.

Overall, I would highly recommend this cigar to anyone and would give it a rating of 88 for flavor, value, etc.

Let me start off by saying upfront that I am not much of a “flavored” cigar guy. I prefer the rugged subtle notes of a cigar leaf on its own. That said Maker’s Mark’s Dumante Sigaro is a different beast. Infused with Dumante Italian liqueur that has a flavor of pistachio nut making so out of this world different and quite a smoking experience.
Loaded not with a hint of pistachio flavor flavor, but with a mouth full of the nut! The torpedo has a long draw and a buttery finish. This is an extremely rich cigar, well constructed, and has an even burn with a nice white ash. My only complaint is that the body is too soft.
This is a great after dinner smoke and/or if your looking for something daring that will challenge your pallet.
I rate the Dumante Sigaro a sound 91.

Cigar Review: Brickhouse Toro
This is my first cigar review for Mi Casa Cigar so I thought I would review the cigar that I have been smoking twice a day for the last month, the Brickhouse. I bought a box of these recently and upon opening them it feels like you might have just bought a new Rolex as it comes nicely packaged with an embossed information card and fancy ribbon around the bundle of cigars inside. I’ve bought plenty of boxes in my day but was pleasantly surprised by how nice the presentation was. Not that any of that really matters when it comes to the cigar itself.
Today I decided to pair my cigar with a Starbucks Venti White Chocolate Mocha Frappacino and no I am not a woman I just enjoy the frothy goodness with a nice morning drive cigar. Upon lighting up the Brickhouse you get a nice draw and lots of smoke with a bit of pepper. After the first two inches the pepper takes a step down and mellows out into a nice smooth flavorful cigar with a firm white/grayish ash that burns even. There is a hint of nuts and cocoa but that might be the coffee, either way it’s a very enjoyable combination.
Overall the Brickhouse would rate a 90 and an excellent value for the under $6.00 price line. This cigar has become a daily smoke for me and I would highly recommend it. Enjoy.

What can I say about the Cain Habano 550 Straight Ligero cigar by Oliva? If you haven’t had one I highly recommend you get one of these! It is a well made slightly oily (not too much, but just enough to give it a gloss).
Upon first light up you’ll get a burst of pepper to tease the tongue. But, don’t fret this quickly tapers off to a balance of sweet and hot notes and a robust after taste. The Cain is a very well made cigar with an even burn. I have yet to have one canoe on me. It smokes like a $30 top shelf cigar should but for around the $7 range. The Cain could very well become your go to stick! I rate the Cain Habano 550 a 93!
